DARKSWORD
Darksword started off life as a drawing many years back, when I was in high school. I never
it to be more than that until years later, when the image flashed in my mind. It then turned
into a single story of an elemental warrior in a medieval setting, in a parallel universe to
our own. Over the last decade or so, it has blossomed into a surreal collection of stories
that tell the story of my warrior and his friends, as well as quests and life moments. While
I haven't really added that many new adventures, Darksword still remains a favourite of mine.
UPPERCUT
Being a fan of boxing, I had been watching a major pay-per-view one Saturday night, when I came
up with the idea of creating a new series of stories based on a boxer and his daily struggles.
His rise to the the top, comebacks, not to mention defeats and victories that make him who he is.
The 'Rumble' side aventures tell the story of his students and proteges as they navigate real
world situations and call upon their boxing backgrounds to overcome the odds. As of 2025, I have
gone back to adding a few new stories in the Uppercut series, as well as new 'Rumble' tales, as
I have found it very enjoyable to revisit one of my early series and write new adventures.
URBAN SENTINEL
I have been a fan of comic books and their heroes since I was a kid. The hero overcoming the
villain is a classic tale of good versus evil. Taking place in the DC comic universe, my hero
character 'Blitzkrieg' is a vigilante in fictional Lake City (loosely based on my hometown of
Toronto, Canada). He occasionally enlists the aid of other well-known vigilantes in the DC universe
when the need arises when a problem spans more than him and his city, but also holds in own in most
of the adversity he faces. A grittier side of my writing, I have come to embrace the working man's
hero, and what he can accomplish on his own instead of waiting for authorities to handle problems.
BIRDS OF PREY
This series follows a group of elite Starfury pilots in the Babylon 5 universe, starting in the year
2257, six months after the events of the B5 pilot movie "The Gathering". Babylon 5 had a profound
influence on me in my teen years due to it's compelling storytelling and detailed character arcs. I
decided a while back to revisit it in my own way through these new set of stories, creating my own
cast of characters and occasionally intertwining stories with characters and elements from Babylon 5.
TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE
Perhaps the longest running writing series and most extensive that I have ever done. I started this
fanfiction series fourteen years ago, evolving new characters, and familiar old ones alike. Set in the
Generation One universe following the events of The Transformers: The Movie (1986), these adventures
are darker than the cartoon was, and take everything to strange new places. My main protagonist through
the series starts off as just another Cybertronian soldier, and becomes a near deity along the way, his
character arc one of the largest and most detailed I have ever written. I have just recently (after a
few years away from it) finished a couple new installments in the series, after having said years ago
that I would never return to the series. It seems like I still have some ideas left for this series.
THE OPERATIVE
Every so often, it's fun to try something new. Having been a fan of the James Bond franchise since my
early teenage years, I tried my hand at writing a different kind of story - a spy thriller that would
only be a maximum of two to three scenes, which would be just enough to tell a tale and keep a reader
hooked. 'Spy' was meant to be a one-off, but became a short series after the original story was picked
up by a publisher in 2020. It had been quite enjoyable to write these, and use elements from the 007 films
while maintaining an original idea with a protagonist that the audience could really find relatable.
THE FORSAKEN
Everyone has a dark side, and sometimes it needs to be explored. As 'spinoff' of sorts to my Darksword
series, 'The Forsaken' takes readers on a journey with a protagonist who is not only an anti-hero, but
someone who harnesses his anger and embraces it to hunt down those who exploit the poor for their own
gain, and those who wrong others simply because they can. On a quest born from the death of his parents,
Anton is aided by the Shadow Dragon, who had trained him since adolescence and given him a power that
aids him in tracking down those who embrace deceit. Stories in this series are the darkest and most
violent adventures that I have ever written, but something I felt that needed to be fully explored.
ROMANCE
Stepping out of the comfort zone is essential for a writer to grow. I had largely shunned romance stories
for the longest time, but romanic undertones in a couple of my series got me into thinking that maybe I
really can write a decent love story. Over the years since I have started, I have written many romance and
love stories - using themes and subject matter from my own personal experiences over the years - that have
resonated with the people that have taken the time to read them. My wife and some of my closest friends
have remarked that these stories are genuine, and help them to understand me as a person in much detail.
OTHER GENRES
As you can imagine, being a writer means that a lot of things I already find fascinating can end up as a new
short story or novella. Being a student of history and someone who finds the nuances of past global conflicts
quite intriguing, I have wrote extensively about past wars. Vietnam, the Korean War, World War II, and others
have all been touched on in my work. I also write the occasional piece of fan fiction that is not Transformers,
finding inspiration in subject matter such as Metroid, Top Gun, Star Wars, and even current political figures
that I find interesting. When it comes to something like this and I have an idea, the sky is really the limit!
